A gunman tore into the VIP room at rapper T.I.'s concert and fired at terrified revellers, killing one and injuring three more.

The rapper Troy Ave, can be seen storming through a door before unloading two shots on unwitting guests.

Party-goers at the bar scramble for the ground as they try to avoid the bullets while the gunman is reported to have shot himself in the leg during the gun battle.

A 33-year-old man died after being shot in the stomach at Irving Plaza concert hall, while a man survived after being shot in the chest and a 26-year-old woman took a bullet to the leg.

Ave, real name Roland Collins, is said to have had a beef with another rapper, Maino, who had just left the stage before shots were heard, according to the New York Daily News.

Police have released the footage of the gunman who went on the rampage at the show in Manhattan, New York, on Wednesday.



They confirmed an argument had broken out on the upper floor and escalated into the VIP area before shots were fired.

Rapper T.I. whose real name is Clifford Joseph Harris Jr.had been set to make his entrance onto the stage just moments later is thought not to have been involved in the dispute.

The rapper, who did not appear on stage as planned said his "heart is heavy today."

A member of the rapper's entourage was killed and three others were injured during a gun battle following a post-concert party where T.I. performed near Cincinnati in 2006.

Last March, two people were shot and injured in a Charlotte, North Carolina, nightclub where he was to perform.

In 2010, the Atlanta rapper was sentenced to 11 months in prison on federal gun charges.

He has had seven top-five albums in the US since his debut release I'm Serious in 2001.
